The entire year of 2026 is being celebrated as Pokémon's 30th Anniversary, as February 27, 2026 marked the thirtieth anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green and therefore the thirtieth anniversary of the Pokémon media franchise as a whole.

The 30th anniversary logo was first revealed with the announcement of the Pokémon Day 2026 Collection TCG product on November 13, 2025.[1]

The Japanese 30th anniversary logo was revealed via a teaser animation on the official Japanese Pokémon social media accounts on January 1, 2026.

The Pokémon Company International will host global Day Out and Night Out events throughout the year. Day Out events will be family-friendly, while Night Out events will be geared towards adult fans who grew up with the Pokémon franchise.[2]

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen

Japanese Pokémon Center Online-exclusive special edition

On February 20, 2026, it was announced that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen would be re-released digitally for the Nintendo Switch on February 27, 2026, in celebration of the anniversary.[3] Preorders went live on the Nintendo eShop a few hours before the official announcement.[4] This release utilizes the Nintendo Switch's local wireless communications as a substitute for the Game Boy Advance Game Link cable and Wireless Adapter. The MysticTicket and AuroraTicket are available without requiring a Mystery Gift distribution in this release, instead spawning in the player's Bag upon entering the Hall of Fame. The games will become compatible with Pokémon HOME at a later date.

In Japan, the online Pokémon Center store sold a special edition of each version beginning February 28, 2026.[5] The special edition comes with a collector's box, replicas of both versions' original boxes, three glass Poké Ball figures featuring each of the Kanto first partner Pokémon, a light-up display stand, and a download code for either FireRed or LeafGreen. It retails for ¥19,800.

Alongside the announcement, the games' soundtrack was added to the Nintendo Music app on February 20, 2026.[6]

Pokémon GO

"What's Your Favorite?" selection screen

On February 8, 2026, a What's Your Favorite? feature was added to the GO Snapshot mode in Pokémon GO, coinciding with the social media campaign of the same name.[2] Players can select from any Pokémon that exists in Pokémon GO, including certain unobtainable ones, to take an augmented reality snapshot with. Alternate forms, excluding Mega Evolution and Gigantamax forms, are also available for photos. Stickers featuring all 1025 Pokémon were also made available to be applied to taken photos. Fans were encouraged to post snapshots to social media using #Pokemon30.[7]

The following Pokémon are unobtainable in Pokémon GO as of April 22, 2026, but are still available for photos. Therian Forme Enamorus and Mimikyu were also available for photos ahead of its obtainable debut. Blipbug, Dottler, Orbeetle, Silicobra, and Sandaconda also became available for photos with their obtainable debut.

From March 3 through March 9, 2026, Pokémon GO ran a "Pokémon 30th Anniversary" event.[8] All Generation I Pokémon except for Mewtwo and Mew were available in the wild for the duration of the event, including those that do not normally spawn, such as the legendary birds. Pikachu wearing Red and Leaf's hats were available in 1-star Raid Battles, and Mewtwo could be obtained via an encounter in the event's GO Pass. Beginning March 7, 2026 and lasting through the end of the event, the event upgraded to an "All Out" version. During the All Out event, almost every Pokémon that has ever been obtainable in Pokémon GO was randomly available in the wild at the same time. Pikachu wearing the hats of the first six regions' player characters were be available in 1-star raids, and the legendary birds and an assortment of Mythical Pokémon and Ultra Beasts were available in 5-star raids.

2026 is also being celebrated as Pokémon GO's 10th anniversary.[2]

Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters EX ran a "Run-Up to Double Anniversary" series of events, celebrating both the Pokémon franchise's 30th anniversary and Pokémon Masters EX's 6.5th anniversary, starting February 17, 2026.[9][10] These events saw the release of arc suit variants of Misty and Brock in sync pair scouts, the addition of Chapter 8 to the main story's Arceus arc, a corresponding Arceus Arc Celebration, a rerun of Clavell (Alt.) & Sprigatito's special sync pair event, a daily log-in bonus of up to 20 tickets for special 10-pair ticket scouts, and rallies providing double rewards from Training Area battles and daily missions. Key art released for Misty and Brock poses them similarly to their original sprites from Pokémon Red and Green.

The celebrations for the Double Anniversary proper were officially announced during the February 27 Pokémon Presents. These celebrations saw the release of the Red (1996) & Pikachu, Florian (Anniversary 2026) & Ogerpon, and Juliana (Anniversary 2026) & Terapagos sync pairs. Several in-game events were held in conjunction with the release of these pairs, including the special event Rumors of a Strange Red and the story event Teal and Indigo Festival.

In addition, the game had Post-Double Anniversary celebrations which saw the release of Bede (Alt.) & Rapidash and Marnie (Alt.) & Grimmsnarl alongside the story event Bede and Marnie's Pursuits and a Post–6.5 Years Celebration! special co-op battle.

The game also held a Pokémon 30th Anniversary Celebration Rally beginning on April 1, 2026. Each month, a special set of missions became available which awarded a free sync pair, materials to upgrade them to 6★ EX and unlock their EX role, and 1,000 Gems. In addition, a story event featuring that character received a rerun which awarded a special piece of artwork for the Trainer Lodge upon completing the final story area. Each set of missions was only available for one month, but the event reruns lasted until the end of the year. The sync pairs and event reruns are as follows:

Pokémon UNITE

Pokémon UNITE uses an orange and purple variant of the Japanese 30th anniversary logo.

On February 19, 2026, the three legendary birds were announced to each be added to UNITE as playable characters in celebration of the 30th anniversary.[11] Zapdos was the first to be added to the game, becoming playable on February 27.

During the Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents, the fully-evolved forms of the Johto first partner Pokémon were also announced to be added to the game as playable characters as part of anniversary celebrations. Typhlosion is the first to be added to the game on April 24, with Feraligatr and Meganium following on May 8 and May 22 respectively.[12]

During the Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents, it was announced that a roundup of every first partner Pokémon in Pokémon Café ReMix from Generations I to IX would be receiving special commemorative broaches. In addition, special furniture themed around the Pokémon 30th Anniversary was also announced. Later, Special Pokémon 30th Anniversary Special Stamps and Bingo Missions would become available.[14]

A special commemorative illustration was released drawn by the art director of the game, Hiroyuki Yamamoto.[13]

Pokémon TCG Live

Pokémon Trading Card Game Live distributed 30th Anniversary-themed deck accessories and avatar cosmetics to all players who logged in between February 9, 2026 and February 27, 2026.[15] A second set of deck accessories was released exclusively to players who logged in on Pokémon Day.[16] From February 27, 2026 to March 5, 2026, players could input the code POKEMONDAY2026 to receive 3000 Trainer Points, 3000 Trade Credits, and 30 assorted booster packs for the Mega Evolution, Phantasmal Flames, and Ascended Heroes expansions.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket ran a "30 Days of Gifts" event from February 27, 2026 to June 27, 2026.[17] By logging in daily during this time period, players could obtain up to 30 booster packs from the Deluxe Pack: ex, Mega Rising, and Fantastical Parade expansions. Hourglasses, Shinedust, and 30th anniversary-themed deck accessories were also distributed through these log-in missions.

After the airing of the 128th episode of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, artwork of Liko, Roy, Dot, Ult, and their Pokémon drawn by Rei Yamazaki was released to commemorate the 30th Anniversary.[18][19] It was also released as a motion poster, with a short PV for the next episode.[20]

My 30 Years with Ampharos

My 30 Years with Ampharos (Japanese: デンリュウと私の30年) is a manga short series that was released via the @poke_times X/Twitter account as a countdown to the Pokémon Day and the twelfth Pokémon Presents. From February 20, 2026 to February 27, 2026, a total of eight chapters were released chronicling the tale between a Trainer and her Ampharos. The script was written by Saji Komori and art was drawn by Nishiki Suzumori.[22]

An unnamed expansion celebrating the 30th anniversary was announced during the February 27 Pokémon Presents for release in 2026.[23] This will be the first-ever TCG expansion to launch globally on the same day. The trailer features cards from various Series and supported languages of the TCG:[24]

Pokémon Day 2026 Collection

On November 13, 2025, the Pokémon Day 2026 Collection TCG product was announced for release on January 30, 2026; this also marked the first reveal of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logo and branding.[1] This product contains a coin featuring the 2026 Pokémon Day logo and a Cosmos Holofoil print of Pikachu from the Temporal Forces expansion with a Pokémon Day stamp.

The First Partner Illustration Collection Series 1, released on March 20, 2026, features a special booster pack containing three of nine illustration rare-style MEP Black Star Promos of the Kanto, Sinnoh, and Alola first partner Pokémon. The First Partner Illustration Collection Series 2 will release on June 19, 2026 and will feature the illustration rare-style promo cards of the Johto, Unova, and Galar first partner Pokémon. The collection will finish with the release of the First Partner Illustration Collection Series 3 on August 7, 2026, which will feature the illustration rare-style promo cards of the Hoenn, Kalos, and Paldea first partner Pokémon. In mainland China, these cards are released as specially-numbered 30th-P Promotional cards in a similar product.[26]

An exclusive promotional Magikarp card was planned to be distributed at the Korean Pokémon Mega Festa 2026 event from May 1 to 31, 2026.[27] The card would have been given out as a reward for obtaining three stamps in the Pokémon GO stamp rally; however, due to overcrowding, the event was cancelled on opening day.[28][29] The Pokémon Company announced the card would instead be obtainable by filling out an online form beginning May 4, 2026.[30]

30th Anniversary UT Collection logo

On December 21, 2025, Uniqlo revealed their Pokémon 30th Anniversary Collection featuring watercolor-styled artwork from Generation I which released on March 19, 2026.[31] This same collection would later be released in the United States in June 2026.

The LEGO & Pokémon Partnership unveiled the first LEGO Pokémon sets on January 12, 2026.[32][33] Preorders opened the same day for an official release on Pokémon Day—February 27, 2026. The sets do not directly feature 30th Anniversary branding, but they are included among marketing material as part of the celebration.[34]

On January 12, 2026, Bandai announced that the Pokémon Kids line would be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.[35] In celebration of this event, two sets of figures were released in the line with the first volume releasing on March 2, 2026 and the second volume scheduled for release in May.[36] A third volume was announced with the theme of "Pikachu's Everyday Life" and was scheduled for release in August 2026.[37]

On January 15, 2026, Takara Tomy revealed several new merchandise announced to also release on February 27, 2026.[38] This included a new wave of MonColle anniversary sets featuring partner Pokémon for each generation, a new Pikachu Comfy Friends / Poké Fuwa with lights and sounds, and finally a reissue of the original Tomy life-sized Pikachu plush toy from 1997.[39] From March 5, 2026 to March 11, 2026, Takara Tomy hosted a Pokémon 30th Anniversary Pop-Up Park at the Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro's B1F Multisquare in Tokyo to showcase many 30th Anniversary items.[40] On Pokémon Day, a special webpage was released outlining several 30th Anniversary items from Takara Tomy and teasing future releases.[41] This included the Moncolle 30th Anniversary Pikachu (Singing Ver.) which was announced for release on April 18, 2026.

On March 6, 2026, Miyoshi Rug released Pokémon 30th Anniversary-themed rugs with designs based on a Poké Ball, Snorlax, Ditto, and Pikachu.[42] On March 16, 2026, Maison DE FLEUR would reveal their collection of lifestyle products under the PokéPeace brand.[43] On March 27, 2026, SK Japan released a new lineup of rubber keychains of the Kanto partner Pokémon.[44] LOGOS would release their collection of outdoors goods on March 19, 2026.[45] For every LOGOS Pokémon item purchased, customers will receive one original sticker based on the Kanto partner Pokémon. On April 15, 2026, Kawabe Co LTD. would reveal a set of lace and embroidered handkerchiefs.[46]

On April 7, 2026, Re-Ment announced a special 30th Anniversary rendition of their Pokémon: Terrarium Collection 10 with revamped with special display bases.[47] This collection is scheduled for release on August 10, 2026.

PUMA would reveal the PUMA x Pokémon “Into Another World” collection on March 30, 2026.[48] This 51-piece capsule collection is inspired by Pikachu, Mimikyu, Espeon and Umbreon and released on April 2, 2026 to PUMA.com, flagship stores, and selected retailers. It would also be made available to the Pokémon Center US stores. The collection was also accompanied by a Pikachu-inspired PUMA All-Pro NITRO™ 2 for the PUMA Hoops X Pokémon collection which released on the same day.[49]

Jazwares will release 30th Anniversary-themed plush and figures throughout 2026.[34]

Santa Cruz Skateboards will release a collection of skateboards inspired by the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Fall 2026.[50] These skateboards will be distributed in blind bags, and will be based on card designs from the TCG's 30-year history.

Food and Drink

Various 30th Anniversary branded food products were released by various food companies. Morinaga & Company would release special food items such as juice boxes[52], yogurts[53], cheesecakes,[54] cheese[55], PINO pudding[56], and Piknik milk drinks.[57] In addition, the bread company Daiichi Pan would release special Pokémon bread for both the standard 30th Anniversary and PokéPeace brands.[58] Sanyo Foods released special packaging for their Sapporo Ichiban ramen brand, featuring various designs of the first partner Pokémon and game mascot legendaries.[59]

As a continuation of their Pokémon collaboration, The Hershey Company announced a new wave of their Pokémon Hershey's Kisses now with new Team Rocket branding.[60] A special sweepstakes was also held with entrants being eligible to win various Hershey and Pokémon merchandise.

Pokémon Center Merchandise

On February 4, 2026, the Pokémon Center online store in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand released the Pokémon 30th merchandise collection.[34][61] This collection features apparel, housewares, and TCG accessories with the 30th Anniversary logo and "Train On" wordmark.

Another line of TCG-focused merch, titled "Opening Scene", was revealed at the 2026 Pokémon Europe International Championships.[62] It is based on the Pokémon battle between Gengar and Nidorino seen in Pokémon Red and Green's opening animation.

On February 26, 2026, several new merchandise was revealed to be coming to the Pokémon Center in Japan. This included a 30th Anniversary Pikachu plush and keychain wearing a Birthday Ribbon[63] as well as a monochrome Pikachu plush and keychain based on its original sprite from Pokémon Red and Green.[64]

Another merchandise collection titled "Pokémon Timeless Adventure" was announced, set to feature artwork based on different themes each month. The first set of merchandise from this line was released on March 14, with the next sets being released on April 23 and May 14.

Pokémon x Target

American retailer Target announced a large-scale exclusive merchandise collab with Pokémon on April 15, 2026.[65] Over 100 items have been announced for select stores, and will be made available to purchase in two waves, with the first one starting on May 2, 2026 and later rolling out to online stores on May 3, 2026 at 8 AM CST. The second wave will be released June 6, 2026.

On March 3, 2026, a trailer premiered for a new edition of the classic Pokémon dice game, Plakoro.[66] Plakoro was a dice model kit game which has players roll dice to execute attacks in simplified luck-based battles. As stated by Tsunekazu Ishihara, the original game was initially designed 30 years ago by both Ishihara himself and Creatures Inc. with manufacturing and distribution handled by Bandai, all of which return for this second edition of the game. This second edition also features a revised ruleset, with new types and new gameplay elements. This new edition of the Plakoro dice game is set to release in July 2026 with the release of new Starter sets, Evolution sets, and Adventure sets.

Three songs from the Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE collaboration have been released for the Pokémon 30th anniversary. The first, Departure Song, was released on January 28, 2026. This song commemorates every single core series game by showcasing each game mascot Pokémon. A second song, Spiral Melodies, was released on Pokémon Day. Spiral Melodies is heavily based on Relic Song and features Meloetta. A third song, Crossroad, was released on March 9, 2026 and prominently features various friend and player characters from throughout the core series. Commemorative artwork was also released on the Project VOLTAGE Twitter account.[67]

Game Boy Jukebox

The 45 songs that make up the Pokémon Red and Blue soundtrack were released as the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox via the Pokémon Center on February 27, 2026.[23] This product is a music player themed after a Game Boy. Each song is stored on individual cartridges designed to resemble the game cartridges for Pokémon Red and Blue, similar to a HitClips device. The obverse of each cartridge has a relevant gameplay screenshot that is displayed in the screen of the replica Game Boy when playing.

NHK Symphony Orchestra

A classical concert tour by the NHK Symphony Orchestra was announced in March 2026 to commemorate both its 100th anniversary and Pokémon's 30th anniversary. The tour will take place at four venues across Japan starting August 21, 2026.[68]

Karaoke Manekineko

A special collaboration between Karaoke Manekineko, one of Japan's largest karaoke chains, and the Pokémon 30th Anniversary was announced on April 1, 2026.[69] This promotional campaign will span from April 24, 2026 to June 14, 2026.[70] The collaboration features various cat Pokémon such as all the regional forms of Meowth.

During the campaign period, guests will receive a special collaboration food tray after ordering at any Karaoke Manekineko store.[71] In addition, patrons will receive a random cat Pokémon-themed media player card (21 types in total). A selection of Pokémon karaoke music from Pokémon the Series will also be made available, where guests will receive a set of 9 exclusive cat Pokémon-themed wallpaper. In Japan, a select 45 locations will have special Pokémon collaboration karaoke rooms. Patrons of these special rooms will also receive a special promotional folder.

Package plans for the promotional campaign consisting of a Poké Ball tier, Great Ball tier, and Ultra Ball tier were made available at a select 100 locations. These package plans package include room charge, a drink bar, and special novelty merchandise together including acrylic straw charms of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logos and special coasters of various cat Pokémon

Pokémon Night Out

The EDM concert Pokémon Night Out was unveiled on April 13, 2026.[72][73] Prior to this announcement, "Night Out" had been teased as events geared toward adult fans who grew up with the Pokémon franchise.[2] Pokémon Night Out will headline Marshmello as the lead performer, and Alison Wonderland will be the supporting act. Two shows have been announced: the first will be held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California on October 24, 2026, and the second will be held at The O2 Arena in London, England on November 10, 2026. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. for each show's respective time zone on April 17, 2026. Commemorative merchandise from the Pokémon Center will be available online and on-site.

Pokémon All Stars 1025

Pokémon All Stars 1025 is a musical project that incorporates the name of every single Pokémon from Generations I through IX in its lyrics. It was written and performed by Masayoshi Oishi. On April 22, 2026, the first part of the song was released, featuring 213 Pokémon.

From February 23 to March 1, 2026, a display was present on Shinjuku Station's Shinjuku Wall 456 for the Pokémon 30th anniversary. The display features variants of the 30th anniversary logo depicting every Pokémon in order from Generation I to Generation IX, alongside background music from the featured generation on display. After this, all logo variants are shown at once, and an advertisement for the Pokémon Presents on February 27 appears.[74][75] The logo variant used for Magikarp on the display was previously shown on the official Korea Pokémon Instagram account on January 11, 2026.[76] The logos were also released as part of a campaign via the @poke_times X/Twitter account,[77] and were later uploaded on the official website.[78] They can be found catalogued on the Bulbagarden Archives here.

Play! Pokémon

Official Play! Pokémon Pokémon League locations hosted Pokémon Day celebrations in honor of the 30th anniversary on or around February 27, 2026.[25] A special Bulbasaur promotional card was distributed to participants. The Pokémon Company International also provided Leagues with Play! Pokémon Prize Pack Series Four booster packs and Mega Evolution TCG Series merchandise as additional prize support, including the Pokémon Day 2026 Collection, Phantasmal Flames Elite Trainer Box, and Mega Venusaur ex Premium Collection.

Tokyo Luminous Night

A projection light show entitled Pokémon Trading Card Game Tokyo Luminous Night (Japanese: ポケモンカードゲーム TOKYO LUMINOUS NIGHT) is displayed regularly on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in celebration of Pokémon's 30th anniversary.[79] The light show is themed around displays of TCG cards from across various languages, generations, and regions. The show's promotional poster showcases Pikachu from the original Expansion Pack, Kyogre ex from Undone Seal, Alcremie VMAX from Legendary Heartbeat, and Mega Venusaur ex from Mega Brave. Aside from TCG cards, the show also features original 3D animations of several Pokémon in their natural environments. The show debuted at 6:15pm on March 20, 2026. Over 5000 people attended the opening, which was hosted by Nashiko Momotsuki, Gorgeous, and the Tosa Brothers.[80] Subsequent shows occur on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays at 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 9:00pm.

Nippon Professional Baseball collaboration

The Pokémon Baseball Festival 2026 (Japanese: ポケモンベースボールフェスタ2026) was announced in collaboration with the Nippon Professional Baseball league on February 26, 2026.[81] From April through August 2026, teams in the Pacific League will be holding Pokémon-themed baseball games in celebration of the 30th anniversary. These games will feature Pokémon characters chosen based on the teams' mascots. Baseball merchandise such as jerseys and caps will also be sold.

In Pokémon GO, special PokéStops will be implemented at each team's stadium. An event baseball jersey Pikachu will be available from Timed Research and Raid Battles, the latter of which will be held on scheduled days throughout the collab.[82]

All Nippon Airways collaboration

On February 26, 2026, All Nippon Airways announced three new Pokémon aircraft: Boeing jets with liveries themed around Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue.[83] The specific designs and launch dates are to be revealed in May 2026.

On April 8, 2026, a special promotion was announced to be held at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo hotel in Roppongi.[84] Guests could reserve either a standard room or executive suite with theming based around the 30th anniversary. Both room-types featured various Pokémon decorations such as special wall artwork and stuffed Pokémon plushies.[85] Guests would also receive a set of complimentary merchandise for their stay. The hotel's restaurants and pastry boutiques also offered a special menu such as the Flying Pikachu Breakfast and Flying Pikachu Burger meal. Reservations are being held from April 8, 2026 to August 24, 2026 for check-in dates spanning from June 20, 2026 to August 26, 2026.

Pokémon Astronomical Observatory

On April 10, 2026, the official Pokémon Astronomical Observatory website was updated with the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logo for Cosmog.[86] The second exhibit, the Kenshin Koriyama Cultural Center in Fukushima is also considered as part of the celebration.

From April 17-19, 2026, TOKYO FLOWER CARPET, held a special exhibition in Gyoko-dori Ave in Tokyo, marking the 25th anniversary of Japan’s contemporary floral-art movement.[87] This exhibition also celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Pokémon with a special Pokémon flower art display in the style of ukiyo-e—a traditional Japanese art form.[88] Additionally, a special floral display featuring the 30th Anniversary logo for Cherrim was also made.[89] Junichi Masuda also spoke at the closing ceremony event and reportedly helped designed the floral art.[90]

From April 22, 2026 to May 6, 2026, a pop-up shop for the monpoké brand was held at the Tobu Department Store’s Ikebukuro branch in downtown Tokyo.[91]At this pop-up shop, several monpoké goods, including toys and stuffed animals, picture books, apparel, miscellaneous goods, will be sold. On May 3, 2026, the shop will host a meet-and-greet event with mascot Pokémon Pikachu and Eevee. The shop also included a special theater room and special photo spot where visitors can watch monpoké shorts.

Several promotional campaigns will be hosted at the pop-up shop.[92] The first 1000 visitors will also receive a promotional monpoké Pikachu headband. The first 3000 visitors to the restaurant district space at the department store will also receive a exclusive dinner mat. Additionally, a special coloring contest for younger guests will also be held, with winners receiving a monpoké Pikachu bath toy.[91] Select submissions will be framed at the restaurant district space. The first 500 people who have spent at least 3,300 yen (tax included) or more at the pop-up shop will receive an exclusive promotional draw-string pouch. A social media promotional campaign was also held, where 50 visitors who have retweeted and follow the Tobu's Department Store's X account will receive an exclusive tote bag. A similar event was held for the official Tobu's Department Store Instagram account, where 300 visitors would receive a special folder instead. Finally, a special stamp rally within the store was held, allowing guests to receive a special sticker set upon completion.

Pokémon Mega Festa 2026

A series of events grouped together as the Pokémon Mega Festa 2026 is being held in Seoul, South Korea beginning May 1, 2026.[93] The Mega Festa consists of the following events and attractions:

The Pokémon Company International will be hosting family-friendly Pokémon Day Out events throughout summer 2026, contrasting the adult-focused Night Out events to be held in the fall.[2] On April 13, 2026, four events were announced for Bordeaux, France; New York City; Dredsen, Germany; and Mexico City, with no further details.[73]

SWITCH March 2026 issue[94]

A special edition of TIME featuring the Pokémon 30th anniversary was published on February 6, 2026.[95] This magazine has four cover variants featuring Pikachu, Ho-Oh and Lugia, Rayquaza, or Mega Charizard X. It features articles detailing various aspects of the Pokémon franchise.

The Japanese magazine SWITCH published a special Pokémon 30th anniversary edition on February 20th, 2026.[94] Its cover has original artwork illustrated by Teeziro. This magazine features interviews with The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara, TCG illustrators Teeziro and Ryota Murayama, and various celebrities.

On January 1, 2026, 00:00 JST, a teaser animation revealing the Japanese 30th anniversary logo was uploaded on official Japanese Pokémon social media accounts as well as on Nintendo Today!. The animation was created by Odashi (おだし).[96] A second animated video was released at 00:00 JST on Pokémon Day, primarily featuring first partner Pokémon and game mascot variants of the 30th anniversary logos.

Super Bowl LX

A commercial for the Pokémon 30th Anniversary aired at Super Bowl LX on February 8, 2026. It was announced alongside a teaser trailer featuring Jigglypuff on February 4, 2026.[34][97] This trailer follows one aired at Super Bowl 50 ten years prior.

The ad officially announced the "What's Your Favorite?" feature in Pokémon GO. It stars Lady Gaga, Trevor Noah, Jisoo, Charles Leclerc, Lamine Yamal, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Young Miko describing their favorite Pokémon: Jigglypuff, Psyduck, Eevee, Arcanine, Zygarde, Luxray, and Gengar, respectively.

Twitch Promotional Campaign

On February 27, 2026, a special Twitch promotional campaign was announced.[98] When subscribing or gifting a sub to a channel under the following game categories: Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, users are able to obtain a special 30th anniversary Pokémon Chat Badge. This promotion lasted from February 27, 2026 to March 7, 2026.

Yahoo! JAPAN

On Pokémon Day, a special promo for the Pokémon 30th Anniversary was published on Yahoo! JAPAN.[99] A special "Pokémon Tab" was added to the Yahoo! JAPAN app where users could see news related to the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, with a "Pokémon Trends" section that summarize the points of each news topic. Users can also download special 30th Anniversary-themed wallpapers from the app for each month of the campaign.[100] The promotion started on March 3, 2026 and will be removed in November 2026.

In addition to the app, special Grass, Fire, and Water Pokémon-themed banners were released for the mobile browser versions of Yahoo! Search and Yahoo! Kids. Users of the desktop search will receive an additional 30th Anniversary banner. In addition, users who search "ポケモン30周年" in the Yahoo! Search will receive Pokémon 30th Anniversary-themed confetti on their search screen. These promotions last starting from Pokémon Day and will end on December 25, 2026.[99]

LINE

A special collaboration campaign was announced for the communication app, LINE, that lasted from March 1, 2026, 9:00 JST ~ March 15, 2026, 23:59 JST.[99] During the collaboration campaign period, users could tap the Pikachu that appears in the wallet tab or mini-app tab (*2) of the LINE app to progress through a variety of missions. If you complete a mission and reach 5 squares, you will receive a special "LINE" app icon. A total of 8 different types of icons were announced featuring Pikachu, Flygon, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle along with three mystery icons.[101]
